Programs and enrollments
What a program is, how people enroll, and how events reach their devices
Programs and program instances#
A program is an offering people enroll in, such as a demand response, battery rebate, or VPP program. Programs come from a catalog:
- Public programs, such as statewide programs, are available to every organization.
- Private programs are available only to the organization that owns them, or that Texture has granted access to.
When you add a program to a workspace, Texture creates a program instance: your workspace's own copy, with its own name, branding, enrollment page, eligibility rules, and terms. In the dashboard, you work with the instance you've selected under Programs.
Enrollments#
An enrollment is one person's participation in a program instance. It links:
- the person, as a contact, also called a member, participant, or customer
- their site, when there is one
- the devices they enrolled
Status#
Every enrollment has a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| candidate | Started, not yet evaluated |
| eligible | Passed eligibility checks |
| ineligible | Didn't meet the requirements |
| submitted | Formally submitted |
| approved | Enrolled. Events can reach these devices. |
| rejected | Not accepted |
| unenrolling | Being removed |
| unenrolled | Removed from the program |
Stages#
Some programs track enrollments through stages, such as Intake, Qualification, and Enrolled. Stages are defined for each program, so every workspace running that program uses the same ones. Texture sets them up for catalog programs.
For most programs, the stage follows the status: a candidate is in Intake, an eligible or submitted enrollment is in Qualification, and an approved one is Enrolled. The Stage column appears in Programs → Enrollments only for programs with their own custom stages. See Understand your enrolled base.
Program events#
A program event is a dispatch, such as a demand response event, that reaches the devices on approved enrollments. See Events and dispatch.
For the API, see Programs and enrollments in the developer guides.
