File Exchange

Send large data files to Texture directly from the platform

File Exchange lets you send a data file to Texture from inside the platform — no email attachments or third-party transfer tools required. It accepts files up to 10 GB, uploads in the background while you keep working, and shows live progress until it's done.

Use File Exchange when you have a large export, a full history pull, or a file in a format Texture hasn't parsed yet and you want Texture to review it.

How to Send a File#

Step 1: Open File Exchange

In Texture, go to Connect → File Exchange in the left navigation.

Step 2: Select your file

Drop your file onto the upload area, or click to browse. Any file type is accepted, up to 10 GB — you don't need to split or compress large exports first.

Step 3: Add a title and notes (optional)

A short title and any context in the notes field helps Texture understand what the file contains and what you need. If your file format is non-standard or not yet supported, use notes to describe the data — Texture will follow up on how to use it.

Step 4: Click Upload

The file uploads in the background. You're free to navigate elsewhere in Texture while it finishes.

Tracking Progress#

Once an upload starts, check its status from the notification bell in the top navigation. It shows:

  • File name
  • Upload progress
  • A Cancel option if you need to stop the upload

Past submissions are available under Session History in the same Connect section.

File Size and Format#

  • Maximum file size: 10 GB per file
  • Accepted file types: All file types — CSV, JSON, XML, GIS formats, and anything else
  • No parsing on upload: Files are received as-is. Texture processes them after receipt, so you can send data even if it's in an unsupported format. Use the notes field to flag what it is.
